South Dakota is one of only seven states in the land that unmoving allow residents to file lawsuits against the added man or woman for "alienation of affection," a fact that made headlines ultimate week in a high-profile playing card filed against Pennington County State's Attorney Glenn Brenner. In the complaint, filed in Seventh racing circuit Court, Douglas Rumpca of fast City contends Brenner "seduced, kidnapped or enticed the affections of Kellie Rumpca" while she was static "happily married" to Rumpca, and he is attempt monetary damages, to be set by a jury. Brenner called the lawsuit "frivolous" and founded on "archaic law" that quantifies women as personal belongings.
